Which is the name of the manufacturer of the canvas. The Russell canvas board was first patented on March 18, 1879, and assigned for marketing first to John W. Shepherd and later to the firm of Frederick Weber & Co.
This helps to add another requirement, as this painting was made circa late19th Century/early 20th Century. The cat breed is similar to P.H. Schor known cat prints, so I think the artist is European, and most likely German.
