Description and history of
Wicker is the oldest furniture making method known to history, dating as far back as 5,000 years ago. This set is from circa early 20th Century, most likely 1930s.
The style of this set is calld British Colonial. British Colonial style is relaxed, genteel and travelled. It pairs dark-stained rattan, timber and bamboo furniture with pure white linens and an abundance of indoor greenery to cool and refresh the space.
In my professional opinion, this antique is a true treasure. It combines modern-age technology with a classic aesthetic, and I’d be very surprised if it didn’t fetch a pretty price on the open market. Whatever your asking price is, I’m sure that there will be someone out there for whom this antique is the perfect purchase. Thank you for your timely and detailed response. These wicker pieces originally belonged to my grandparents. I have kept them for sentimental reasons, but unfortunately I have no room in my home for a grouping of this size. Rather than risk damage in a garage I felt the time had come to find a new home for the pieces. I appreciate the suggestions as to where to begin with this process.
